Jessica gave up everything to be with Craig, as shown on Lifetime’s Prison Brides, but the journey has not been smooth-sailing.
The women who have shared their stories on Lifetime’s new docuseries, Prison Brides, are certainly giving it all they have to make their unconventional relationships and marriages work.
One of the women who have given up the most to make her marriage to her former inmate husband work is Jessica Silvey.
Jessica is a 29 year-old Australian women who gave up her job and her family and support system back home, to move to Wichita in Kansas (where she now works as an insurance broker). She did this to be with her husband, Craig, after he was released from prison.
But, now that the couple has settled into their new life together on the outside, it seems like Jessica will have to deal with a lot more highs and lows, as her story progresses throughout this season.
The first-ever season of Prison Brides officially started airing on January 10, 2024. The show has now aired six episodes in total and there are even more episodes slated for the future.
The Prison Brides episodes to look forward to in the next few weeks include:
Episode | Premiere date |
Episode 7: “It’s All a Bit Messy” | Wednesday, February 21, 2024 |
Episode 8: “Wedding Highs and New Lows” | Wednesday, February 28, 2024 |
These new episodes will air in the usual Prison Brides timeslot on Lifetime at 9:30 p.m. ET or at 8:30 p.m. CT.
Rumor has it that the “It’s All a Bit Messy” episode will push Jessica and Craig’s post-prison relationship to its limits as they start planning for their expanding family.
If you have been following the Prison Brides saga for a while now, you may already know that Jessica (and a few other members of the show’s cast) used to share various behind-the-scenes details about their personal drama on social media.
However, Jessica has now disabled all of her public social media accounts, and she is seemingly trying to keep her personal life out of the public eye.
And, while Jessica did not explicitly explain why she ended up going from a budding social media star to someone without a social media presence so quickly, she has been open about her struggles with online bullies in the past.
Jessica reportedly explained, shortly before she decided to disable all of her social media accounts, that she “went from 2 followers to about 15k overnight when one video went viral” and that she “did get wrapped up in a lot of the drama and gossip”.
So it seems like all of the attention may just have become too much for her now that the show has gained such a loyal following.
Since neither Jessica, nor Craig, have any real presence on social media, there is no way to know whether their relationship has been able to survive outside of the show.
However, there have been more than a few rumors floating around the internet that Craig is already behind bars again.
In fact, some sources even reported that Jessica herself made a statement about her and Craig’s relationship, confessing that she does not know what the future holds for them.
If these rumors are true, Jessica might find herself having to raise their child on her own.
In case you missed it, the most recent episode of Prison Brides revealed that Jessica and Craig are expecting a new bundle of joy.
And while we sadly do not have any social media updates about how Jessica’s pregnancy is going, we do know that this will certainly not be the easiest journey for this fairly new couple.
Jessica already revealed that she is aware that her type 1 diabetes diagnosis may increase the risk level of her pregnancy.
And this is definitely something to be concerned about, as pregnancies in type 1 and 2 diabetes patients can not only be quite dangerous for the baby, but they will also put the mothers at risk for complications ranging from high blood pressure to diabetic ketoacidosis.
To add to this, Jessica and Craig have also been very open about their financial struggles.
And since having and raising a baby can cost over $25,000 within the first two years (according to webmd.com), this couple is certainly going to have a lot to worry about in the next few months.
For now, it looks like we will have to keep watching the remainder of Prison Brides’ first season to see how this all transpires.
