While it seems like Craig’s life is all good so far on Prison Brides, rumor has it that things are going downhill fast, outside of the show.

Prison Brides is an almost-new docuseries from Lifetime, which aims to share the stories of various current and former United States inmates who managed to find love against all odds whilst they were serving their time.

Everything we know about Craig from Prison Brides

Craig is one of many former inmates featured on the show. When Craig was first introduced to Prison Brides audiences, he was still busy serving out the last few days of his 10-year-long prison sentence as part of a special work-release program.

However, as the show has progressed, we have been able to watch Craig walk away from prison a free man.

And since Craig spent most of his adult life behind bars, it has been especially exciting to see him settle into life on the outside, with his Australian wife, Jessica.

As of the end of episode six, this new life on the outside now includes a brand new truck as well as another, very special new addition to the family.

But, while Craig’s story on Prison Brides is seemingly headed in a good direction so far, it seems like his real life, behind the scenes, may not be going as smoothly.

Before we dive into the behind-the-scenes details, updates, speculation and rumors surrounding Craig and his future wife, Jessica (and the show), it is about time that we take a look back at how far Prison Brides has come in its first season.

The good

If you have been keeping up with all of the new Prison Brides episodes which have aired to date, then you will already know that Craig and Jessica now officially hold the title for another Prison Brides first – the very first Prison Brides baby.

The “Baby Steps” episode ended with Jessica and Craig confirming that Jessica is expecting a  bundle of joy just a few weeks after Craig’s release from prison.

And, while Jessica was clearly still concerned that her diabetes diagnosis could complicate the pregnancy, Craig seemed over the moon about the idea of expanding his and Jess’s family.

The bad

While Jessica and Craig certainly seem cautiously optimistic about her pregnancy on the show, this tiny bit of good news does not negate the fact that their relationship is still on a somewhat unsteady footing.

From what we have seen so far about what the future may hold for Jessica and Craig’s relationship, they are already butting heads over crucial issues, such as finances.

And, to add fuel to the fire, there is also a very real chance that their relationship could change again if Craig is arrested again.

Wisevoter.com places Craig’s recidivism chances (as a former inmate from Kansas) at as high as 34.7%, further expounding that almost 44% of all the United States criminals released end up returning to prison within their first year on the outside.

Unfortunately, this means that Jessica and Craig are still not out of the woods just yet.

The ugly

Neither Jessica nor Craig maintain any kind of public social media presence these days. This has made it quite difficult to keep up with their lives (and Jessica’s pregnancy) outside of the show.

However, the internet rumor-mill seems to suggest that Craig has already reoffended in real-life and has now sadly added to the above-mentioned recidivism statistics.

And while Craig’s return to prison has not officially been confirmed publicly yet – some sources reported that Jessica has confirmed that Craig has been in prison since before the festive season of 2023.

If the shocking allegations that Craig was arrested on domestic violence charges are true this would mean that Jessica has had to go through the majority of her pregnancy alone.

But, since there was so little time between Craig’s release from prison and his reported second arrest, we may even get the full story from Craig’s perspective in the future episodes of Prison Brides season one, very soon.
