Prison Brides’ Craig is now a free man, but married life on the outside just might be enough to make him crack under the pressure.
Lifetime’s new docuseries, Prison Brides, follows the lives and relationship struggles of seven women who have fallen in love with incarcerated convicts in the United States.
The couples who have shared their stories on Prison Brides have encountered everything from financial strain to familial judgment and hopeless prison sentences.
However, unlike many of the other couples that we have seen on Prison Brides so far, Jessica and Craig are already married.
What lies ahead for Craig and Jessica?
Jessica and Craig celebrated their wedding before the filming of Prison Brides even began, in a small prison-based ceremony.
But while this certainly shows that Jessica and Craig are committed to each other, it also means that there is a lot on the line.
Jessica left her job, her son, and her entire support system in Australia behind to try and make it work with Craig – but that may just be adding unnecessary pressure on their relationship.
Craig is actually one of only a few of the Prison Brides convicts that we have seen get released from prison in these first few episodes.
But this does not take away from the fact that Craig is a life-long offender who has spent most of his adult life in the system.
Adjusting to life on the outside after such a long time behind bars is bound to come with its own challenges.
But add this to the challenges of adjusting to life as newly-weds – and Craig and Jessica may just find that life on the outside is much more difficult than they initially anticipated.
Everything we know about Craig and Jessica so far
Prison Brides’ documentary-style format can sometimes make it difficult to keep track of all of the couples’ stories.
Fortunately, we have gathered all the most important information that Craig and Jessica have shared about themselves to date below. This includes:

Craig’s story
Like many of the convicts and former convicts who have shared their stories on Prison Brides, it seems like Craig had a very difficult childhood.
And while Craig has never delved into the details of his childhood, he has shared that between the ages of 12 and 35, he had only spent around 3 years out from behind bars.
Craig had originally been convicted on attempted aggravated robbery charges. But by the time that he was introduced on the show, he had neared the end of his work-release program and almost completed his 10-year long sentence.
Are Jessica and Craig still together?
Unlike many of the other couples that we have seen on Prison Brides thus far, Jessica and Craig have chosen to keep their lives outside of this reality documentary show very private.
This makes it difficult to get any behind-the-scenes details about how their relationship has been progressing in the last few months.
However, what we do know is that Jessica has confirmed that they will be welcoming a new “Baby Hud” in May of 2024, so it seems like things must be going well for them.
And, if Prison Brides does eventually return for a second season, we may just be lucky enough to watch Jessica and Craig tackle the all-new challenge of learning how to parent together.
What to expect from the next episode of Prison Brides
If you tuned in to watch Prison Brides’ fourth episode, then you will likely already know that this episode ended on quite the high note, with Jessica and Mika greeting Craig at the door after his release from prison.
The fifth episode of Prison Brides, “Collateral Damage”, is set to premiere on February 7, 2024.
This episode will introduce a brand-new couple who will get to share their own heartwarming love story, and all of the struggles that they have faced in their romantic journey so far.
Episode five will also follow Craig’s first few moments as a free man, but from the looks of it, he and Jessica will also get their first real taste of what it is truly like to be a married couple in the outside world.
At this point, it seems like only time will tell whether Craig will be able to adjust to his new life in the real world, and whether he and Jessica will truly be able to make their marriage work.
