Gabby has quickly become one of Prison Brides’ rising stars, but she is mostly concerned with finding help for her husband’s case.
The Prison Brides season one cast consists of seven international jet-setting women and the seven American prisoners with whom they have fallen in love.
This unconventional arrangement has certainly made room for more than a few interesting characters.
But none of the show’s cast members have drawn quite as much attention as Gabriella ‘Gabby’ Moore, the former model who met her now-husband through an online pen pal program.
What we know about Gabby and Jamal’s love story
Gabby, like many of the women who have shared their stories on the show, has faced criticism and concern from her family, her friends, and even strangers on the internet, because of her relationship with Jamal.
But, despite all of this, Gabby and Jamal recently decided to take things to the next level by tying the knot while Jamal is still behind bars.
Of course, Gabby and Jamal both hope that their current long-distance, long-sentence situation will soon change, but only time will tell whether Gabby and Jamal will eventually get their true Prison Brides ‘happily ever after’ in the future.
A brief summary of Gabby and Jamal’s Prison Brides story
Gabby and Jamal’s relationship is actually one of the youngest relationships on Prison Brides, as these two lovebirds have only been together for about three years.
This means that they have given Prison Brides fans quite the inside scoop by sharing a significant chunk of those early relationship milestones on the show.
Some of the most important moments that we have been able to witness for Gabby and Jamal in season one, include:
Episode | Key moment |
Episode 4: “Second-Degree Engagement” | Gabby and Jamal’s first appearance on the show and the introduction to their story |
Episode 6: “Baby Steps” | Gabby gets ready to travel to the United States to marry Jamal |
Episode 7: “It’s All a Bit Messy” | Gabby’s bachelorette party |
Episode 8: “Wedding Highs and New Lows” | Gabby and Jamal get married |
The story behind the story
Gabby has requested that fans (and critics) of the Prison Brides show follow her and the other ladies on their personal social media profiles to ensure that we all get the full story.
If you were to scroll on over to any of Gabby’s social media accounts right now, chances are, you will be confronted with tons of content about Jamal’s alleged wrongful conviction.
It turns out that the entire reason why Gabby and Jamal even agreed to share their story on Prison Brides in the first place is because they are both working diligently to try to get Jamal’s case overturned.
According To Gabby and Jamal’s version of events, he was convicted based solely on his mother’s testimony, which they claim she lied about.
They have even started a GoFundMe campaign to help with all the legal fees and “get Jamal home back to his son and his family”.
Gabby’s other Prison Brides connections
If you are caught up on the most recent Prison Brides episodes, you will know that Gabby and Emma (one of her Prison Brides co-stars) are actually quite close friends in real life.
But, what you may not know is that Gabby and Emma actually first met outside of the show.
Gabby and Emma met through an online prison wives support group which Gabby joined shortly after she and Jamal made things official.
And it seems like these two ladies often spend time together, even when the Prison Brides cameras are not rolling.
Is Jamal just using Gabby?
Fans of shows like Prison Brides, the Love After Lockup franchise, and even the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, to some extent, will know that the sad reality of many of these relationships is that one party may just be in it for the green card or for some other sort of financial gain.
And since Gabby has been so heavily involved in advocating for Jamal and trying to find a way to finance his appeals process, this has brought up a few troubling questions about why exactly Jamal seems so committed to her.
However, Gabby clarified in a recent interview on the Kiki and Kibbitz YouTube channel that Jamal does have a job inside the facility in which he is incarcerated.
Gabby even added later on that she would estimate that Jamal contributes about half of the funds needed for their phone calls.
She also recently provided “proof” of the fact that Jamal refused to chat to another woman who had reached out to him in order to prove just how real and committed their marriage truly is.
