Iron Resurrection is back for another season and Mike Zabonik has once again returned as the show’s resident fabricator.
Iron Resurrection has now officially returned for its seventh season on air. And this time around, the team at Martin Bros. Customs is tackling everything from a classic ’49 Buick to a ’70s step van in their mission to create some of the coolest custom cars on the road.
While the arrival of a brand new season is certainly cause for celebration in the Iron Resurrection fandom, it can also be cause for concern – since there has been such a high turnover of cast members over the last couple of years.
Did Mike Z return for Iron Resurrection season 7?
Fortunately though, any fans of the bandana-loving variety can rest assured that the Martin Bros. Customs fan-favorite fabricator, Mike Zabonik (or ‘Mike Z’ for short), has returned for another season of hot-torch wielding shenanigans.
In fact, season seven opened with Mike Z and shop-owner, Joe Martin, starting work on a ’60s Impala with a uniquely challenging x-frame design.
And in classic Iron Resurrection fashion, the team goes above and beyond to turn this forgotten old dust-collector into the project-car of Joe’s dreams in season seven’s first two episodes.
The other cast members that have returned for season 7
With season seven now well underway, Iron Resurrection can officially mark its eighth year on television.
And, while this is certainly quite the achievement, it does mean that many of the show’s ‘original’ cast members are no longer part of the Iron Resurrection family.
But, while Iron Resurrection has had a somewhat constantly revolving door when it comes to its on-screen talent in the last few years, the cast seems to have stabilized somewhat in season seven.
And all of the show’s returning cast members, who will be hard at work on the various projects driving through the Martin Bros. Customs shop this season include:
Cast member | Role |
Mike Zabonik | Fabricator |
Joe Martin | Martin Bros. Customs Owner |
Amanda ‘Mandi’ Martin | Martin Bros. Customs Owner |
Jayson ‘Shag’ Arrington | Marketing and Sales Manager |
Will Mike Z be leaving the show soon?
While Mike Z has been heavily promoting season seven of Iron Resurrection all over his social media pages, and even went as far as reminiscing about seasons past early last year – some longtime fans of the show are still worried that this fan-favorite character will be replaced.
The main thing that sparked the speculation about Mike possibly parting ways with Iron Resurrection is Amanda’s announcement that Martin Bros. Customs is looking to hire a new experienced metal fabricator, as well as a TIG and MIG welder to join the team.
However, since neither Mike nor any other member of the Martin Bros. Customs team has mentioned anything about Mike leaving the show , it is pretty safe to assume that the team is probably looking to expand – and not replace – their current staff.
All about Mike’s side-business
The team has been filming for season seven of Iron Resurrection since all the way back in March of 2023.
But when Mike is not busy working on cars which are in various stages of disassembly or filming new episodes of the show – he keeps himself busy in other ways.
Mike recently revealed via a Facebook post that he actually has a land work service on the side.
According to this post, Mike Z Land Work Services will take care of everything from land clearing and brush clean-up to draining and foundation pads.
And, from the looks of Mike’s own home-improvement project, you may even be able to twist his arm to do some metal work and fence-building as well.
What to expect for the rest of season 7
Fortunately, Mike and the rest of the busy Iron Resurrection season seven cast find plenty of time between their other businesses to film for the show. And there is much more to look forward to before this most recent season runs its course.
The seventh season will continue with episode five, which is set to air on February 13, 2024.
This episode will be the second part of the “Step Van Showstopper” saga and will see Joe, Mike and the rest of the team break out all the stops to create a one-of-a-kind rolling advertisement for their favorite whiskey brand.
Furthermore, since there is always so much going on at the Martin Bros. The team also takes on a brand new challenge this episode and gets to work transforming a 1960 Chevy pickup truck.
New episodes of Iron Resurrection season seven air Tuesdays on MotorTrend TV and MotorTrend+ at 8 p.m. CT.
