Love After Lockup: The Heather and Dylan saga continues

Heather and Dylan broke up shortly after their first Love After Lockup appearance, but the drama did not end there.

The first part of Love After Lockup season five is now winding down. And as we all ponder the fates of the new couples that we have been introduced to, so far, this season, it might be time to take a look back at some of the most notable couples from previous seasons.

If you have been a Love After Lockup fan since the beginning (or, at least since season three), chances are, you will remember Heather Gillespie and Dylan Smith.

What happened to Heather and Dylan after Love After Lockup

Heather and Dylan quickly became one of Love After Lockup’s most talked-about couples after they started sharing their incredibly volatile and complicated relationship in the show’s third season.

Unfortunately, though Heather and Dylan had managed to hold onto their relationship during his five-year incarceration – they just could not make their relationship work after the Love After Lockup cameras stopped rolling, and they broke up shortly after season three was filmed.

Dylan and Heather have chosen to stay out of each other’s lives, even now, more than three years down the line, and they have both even found new partners.

However, this does not necessarily mean that they have found their happily ever afters, as it seems like all kinds of trouble has continued to follow these former reality television stars since they appeared on this show.

Heather and Dylan’s Love After Lockup timeline

Before we dive right into everything that has happened to Heather and Dylan in the aftermath of Love After Lockup season three, let us recap where their story started.

Unlike most of the couples that appear on WeTV’s Love After Lockup, Heather and Dylan actually met before he was arrested and sentenced to five years in prison.

However, fans were first introduced to their relationship when he was released from prison on the third season of the show, as follows:

Show Episodes Initial air date
Love After Lockup (Season three, part 1) Episode 1 to episode 8 July 17, 2020 to September 4, 2020
Love After Lockup (Season three, part 3) Episode 13 to episode 18 October 9, 2020 to November 13, 2020

However, Heather and Dylan’s lives have not quieted down at all since then.

The post-Love After Lockup breakup

Dylan confirmed that he and Heather broke up after about “two days in the real world”, but it seems like there is still a bit of uncertainty about what exactly caused their breakup.

According to Dylan’s version of events, they simply realized that their relationship was not meant to be, and both moved on without any mutual animosity.

However, according to Heather’s version of events, the breakup was the first step in a downward spiral which has ultimately landed her on the streets and without custody of her children.

What Dylan is doing now

While Dylan’s version of his and Heather’s breakup might have a more positive spin, it seems like he has had his own downwards spiral since his last Love After Lockup appearance.

And while Dylan is reportedly  still working as a Superstar Sales Pro and Marketing Consultant, his personal life has remained rather chaotic.

Dylan and his new partner, Marissa, have accused each other of abuse multiple times over the course of the last few years, and things have gotten so bad that the police even had to get involved on a couple of occasions.

And the drama does not stop there, as a new (now-privated) Instagram account has emerged, run by the couple’s former acquaintance, which accused Dylan of a number of heinous crimes.

What Heather is doing now

In Heather’s version of how things between her and Dylan ended, a group of assailants reportedly broke into her home and assaulted her shortly after she and Dylan broke up.

As a result, she and her new partner, Xavier have been living, on and off, in a tent for the past four years, which has placed additional strain on her physical and mental health.

Heather recently revealed that they have now spent 367 consecutive days in their tent, and she has now seemingly come down with the flu.

To make matters worse, Heather is also pregnant. And, according to her most recent Instagram story, the baby is due any day now.

Heather has also shared a few other worrying tidbits in the last few years which allege that someone may be out to get her in some way, and it is quite clear that she has been struggling with her mental health since she appeared on the show.
