The Curse of Oak Island is still finishing up its 11th season, but there is a good chance that the show will be renewed before the end of 2024.
Brothers, Rick and Marty Lagina, likely had no idea what they were getting themselves into when they agreed to let the History camera crew film their treasure-hunting expeditions in 2014.
However, now more than a decade down the line, The Curse of Oak Island is one of the most popular reality shows on television and has now entered its 11 season on the air.
Will The Curse of Oak Island be renewed for another season?
Season 11 of Oak Island is set to conclude by the end of February 2024, but you may find yourself already wondering about whether the show will return to the air for a 12th season somewhere down the line.
Unfortunately, we will likely have to wait until season 11 has ended its run on television before the higher-ups will give any official word about whether The Curse of Oak Island will be renewed for another season.
But, that will not stop us from speculating about this beloved show’s future.
After more than 10 seasons on television, it seems almost like a foregone conclusion that Marty, Rick, Alex, Gary, Craig, Jack and the rest of the team will be back on our screens before we know it.
And, given the fact that The Curse of Oak Island’s viewership is still reaching new highs to this day, there is really no reason why History would pull the show from the air now.
Our predictions for The Curse of Oak Island season 12 premiere date
While History has not yet released any official news about if and when we can expect to see The Curse of Oak Island return for a 12th season, a look back on the show’s previous premiere dates can shed some light on the subject.
The premiere dates for The Curse of Oak Island’s previous seasons can be summarized as follows:
|January 5, 2014
|November 4, 2014
|November 10, 2015
|November 15, 2016

And if we take all of this into consideration, it is fairly safe to assume that The Curse of Oak Island season 12 will premiere somewhere around November of 2024.
The Curse of Oak Island is still drawing in millions of viewers
It is rare for any one show to exceed more than ten seasons on television without being rebooted in any way. But it is even rarer for shows to survive this long and to still earn their place among the top ten most popular shows on cable television.
Yet, this is exactly what The Curse of Oak Island managed to do in its 11th season, where it rivaled the viewership of cable giants such as Fox News programs, NFL and college football games.
What you can expect if The Curse of Oak Island does return
The 11th season of The Curse of Oak Island has not even finished yet, but we already know that the show’s next season will include so much more of what fans love to see.
If the show does return for a 12th season, fans can likely expect to see all-new “Bobby Dazzlers.”
And judging by the team’s most recent finds, the next season may even include new insights into the structure on Lot 5, or some new connections to the Garden Shaft.
Some fans do have their doubts
If you have watched any of The Curse of Oak Island episodes which have aired in the past decade, you have probably heard the Lagina brothers saying that their mission is about so much more than simply finding Oak Island’s mysterious hidden treasure.
And similarly, most long-time fans of the show just enjoy tagging along for the adventure. However, that does not mean that The Curse of Oak Island fans have lost their sense of humor about the show’s lack of treasure.
One user on a The Curse of Oak Island Facebook fan-page quipped “Anyone know how many fans have to die before the treasure on oak island is found?”, while another commented “Oh look, another exciting find of a rusty old chain” on The Curse of Oak Island’s official Facebook page.
Fortunately, it seems like the one thing that everyone can agree on is that treasure or not – The Curse of Oak Island will be around for years to come.
