Iron Resurrection has been quietly filming its seventh season and the fan-favorite Shag has already confirmed that he will continue to be part of the show.
MotorTrend’s hit automotive restoration show, Iron Resurrection started airing all the way back in 2016 and remains a firm favorite among gearheads and reality television aficionados alike.
But like any other reality television series that is nearing the ‘decade on television’ mark, Iron Resurrection has seen some major changes in its cast in the last few years.
Furthermore, fan-favorites like Javier ‘Shorty’ Ponce, Pompa, Phil Cato and more, have all left the show over the last few years.
Shag’s behind-the-scenes filming update
Fortunately though, it seems like filming for the next season of the show has continued quietly in the background for quite some time, and it also seems like the show’s core crew has remained intact.
You may have come across a rumor or two that Iron Resurrection’s beloved marketing guru, Jayson ‘Shag’ Arrington has also decided to part ways with the show.
However, in classic Shag fashion, he simply confirmed that he is, in fact, still actively filming for the series, by posting a photo of the first slate for seasons even, with the caption “And so it begins…day 1 of many” in March of 2023.
And while the other details about what fans can expect for this upcoming season have been rather vague, this does give us some hope that there are possibly a few big projects in the works at Martin Bros. Customs.

Shag’s take on how Iron Resurrection came about
Although fans usually only get their first taste of a new reality television series once the network, production company and cast have already straightened out all of the details, there is usually a lot of planning, and reshooting that happens before this point.
And Shag actually provided some details as to the early days of Iron Resurrection in a 2023 interview with GarageInsiderTV.com.
In this interview, Shag not only revealed that he, Joe and Amanda had all been established as the show’s main hosts early on, but also that it took quite a few months for the show to get on its feet.
According to Shag’s recollection, there were more than four months of downtime between when they signed their exclusivity agreements for Iron Resurrection and when those first few episodes were actually filmed.
Fortunately, the show is seemingly running on a much tighter schedule these days.
The other Iron Resurrection season seven season news
Fortunately, the Iron Resurrection stars which have stayed with the show have not been holding back when it comes to sharing behind-the-scenes details on social media.
And outside of Shag’s confirmation that he will be returning to the show, Amanda has also shared her own season seven update video on Instagram.
In this video posted about three weeks ago, she states that filming for the season had almost been wrapped and she later adds that fans can expect new episodes as soon as the end of 2023, or in January of 2024.
What Shag gets up to in the Iron Resurrection off season
When Shag is not spending his time filming new episodes of Iron Resurrection, or hunting down new deals on behalf of the team, this Iron Resurrection fan-favorite can be found running his e-bike business, YourBikerGang.com.
If you have ever tuned in to watched an episode of Iron Resurrection, then you will already know that Shag’s real expertise lies in the world of branding and marketing.
And it seems like he has been able to put these skills to good use as the business now boasts an excellent 5 out of 5-star rating (from over 1,500 reviews) on TripAdvisor, and has taken the top spot on the platform for Tours and Activities to do in Austin.
This is especially impressive if you consider the fact that the business was only launched about five years ago in 2017.
