Rudy left the Texas Metal cast in the show’s fourth season, in order to focus on his own goals.

Texas Metal has slowly become a fan-favorite show among gearheads all over the country, since the show started airing all the way back in 2017.

The series follows Bill Carlton (the shop owner) and his team of skilled fabricators, mechanics and other types of automotive experts, who work at the Ekstensive Metal Works shop.

This team sets out to prove that their builds can compete with some of the best in the world.

The Ekstensive Metal Works team has built up a reputation for its incredible builds over the years. But just like any other workplace, employees do come and go with time.

One of the employees who has left Ekstensive Metal Works, and subsequently left the Texas Metal show, over the years is fabricator, Rudy Mora.

Rudy’s farewell message

Although Rudy initially disappeared from the show’s fourth season without an explanation, he did later take to Instagram to explain his absence.

According to a post from July 9, 2020, Rudy “decided to step away from Ekstensive Metal works” in order to “move to other goals in [his] journey.”

Rudy did not explain what his other goals entailed, but unlike his fellow departing cast members, Tim Donelson and John Villarreal-Vega, it does not seem like he has gone on to start his own fabrication business since leaving Ekstensive Metal Works.

What is clear, though, is that longtime Texas Metal fans do not blame Rudy for his departure from the show.

The comments on this post are flooded with messages like “Good luck with new challenges and opportunities ahead of you” and “best of luck in whatever you do brother !!”.

The Texas Metal episodes that featured Rudy

While Rudy may not be coming back to film future episodes of Texas Metal, you will still be able to go back and watch some of the previous episodes of the show in which this talented fabricator made an appearance.

Some of the Texas Metal episodes in which you can spot Rudy and his impressive fabrication work include:

Texas Metal season Year Episode title
Season three 2020 Episode 1: “Cab over Custom”
Episode 4: “Re-Dually”
Episode 5: “Bolt-On is a Dirty Word”
Episode 7: “100 and C10 Percent”
Episode 8: “Dump Truck to Show Truck”
Episode 12: “5500 Lifted, Texas Edition”
Season four 2021 Episode 7: “The New Old School Suburban”

What is Rudy doing now?

It seems like Rudy prefers to stay out of the public eye for the most part now that he is no longer part of the Texas Metal cast, as he is not very active on social media.

However, Rudy’s Facebook profile does suggest that he has been working for himself and “Loving It” since 2020.

Rudy’s X (Twitter) profile also confirms that he has continued living in Houston, Texas (the same area in which Texas Metal is filmed) even after he left the series.

Was there any drama between Rudy and the rest of the Ekstensive Metal Works team?

Whenever a reality television show star decides to split ways with the show that put them on the map, rumors inevitably start swirling about what could have caused a potential rift.

However, in Rudy’s case, it does not seem like there was any real bad blood between this skilled fabricator and the rest of the Ekstensive Metal Works or Texas Metal team.

In fact, Rudy even thanked not only Bill, but the rest of the Ekstensive Metal Works team as well “for the opportunity and all the years of great times” after announcing his departure from the shop.

This indicates that it was most likely an amicable split, even if it did come as sad news to longtime fans of the show.

When will Texas Metal be returning for another season?

Texas Metal’s most recent sixth season only finished airing in May 2023, which means that it will likely be a few months before the show has had enough time to film, edit and release its next season.

However, while fans will likely have to wait at least until the first quarter of 2024 for the seventh season of the show to start airing, the Texas Metal team has seemingly already started working on quite a few exciting projects which may just be featured on the show in the future.

This includes the long-awaited reveal of the roof-less ’37 Bugatti Type 57, which the team was busy building for John Cena in season six, plus some other secret projects which the team has only shared snippets of on the Ekstensive Metal social media pages.
