Kai was one of the most mysterious contestants on the first season of Claim to Fame. But this did not stop Amara from guessing correctly that she was related to the comedic actress, Tiffany Haddish in the sixth episode.
Who is Kai related to on Claim to Fame?
With the second season of Claim to Fame now well underway and with even more twists and turns coming every week, it can be difficult to keep track of or even remember the facts (and fibs) from the show’s first season.
Kai (as we knew her on the series) was one of the season one contestants who kept the other contestants (and those of us watching from home) guessing for almost the entire season.
Although Kai did give some helpful clues along the way, her true ‘claim to fame’ was only revealed in sixth episode of the show.
In this episode, her fellow contestant, Amara, correctly guessed that she was related to actress and comedian, Tiffany Haddish.
Kai (better known as Jasmine) tried her best to sway Amara off course with her guess. But in the end, Amara was convinced that she was correct about Kai being the Girls Trip star’s sister.
The clues that led to Kai’s ‘claim to fame’ being discovered
Before it was revealed that Kai was related to Tiffany Haddish, she had only revealed a few details about her celebrity relative.
This included the fact that the famous person was female and that the biggest accolade that this celebrity had received was a Grammy.
However, these clues did not mean much until Kai donned a white dress in the fourth episode and revealed another clue, which spelled out “Fun Knee Woman in Girls Trip” shortly thereafter.
Kai’s real identity
Once Kai had been eliminated from the series, her true identity as Jasmine English was finally revealed.
Jasmine’s famous sister may be her ‘claim to fame’, but in real, regular life, she has been extremely successful in her own career as a game designer (who works for Blue Maiden Games) and an ABA therapist.
Kai was surprised about how long she lasted on the show
After Kai’s secret identity was revealed, most fans were just surprised to find out that Tiffany Haddish even has a sister. However, what surprised Kai the most about her time on Claim to Fame was how far she made in the competition.
Jasmine even admitted that she is “a horrible liar and an even worse negotiator”, but she still made it past half of the season before spilling her secret.
