The set that Guy’s Grocery Games built for the show to be filmed in is located in Santa Rosa, California.

Guy’s Grocery Games was filmed in a real grocery store during the show’s first season.

But after that, the production team actually built an impressive fake grocery store set, which pretty much functions like the real thing.

Where is Guy’s Grocery Games filmed?

Celebrity chef, Guy Fieri’s cooking competition show, Guy’s Grocery Games, is so chock full of action that there is seldom time for the competing chefs (or the audience at home) to catch their breath in between the challenges.

Even so, if you have ever found yourself looking at the “Flavortown Market” and wondering which grocery store they filmed the show in, the answer might surprise you.

The first season of Guy’s Grocery Games was actually filmed in a real-life grocery store in West Hills, Los Angeles called “Field’s Market.”

However, as the show expanded, and the likelihood of damages increased, the producers decided that it would be better to build their own fake-ish supermarket set in a warehouse Santa Rosa, California, for the second season.

This is where the show was filmed up until its most recent 22nd season.

Is Field’s Market still open?

Guy’s Grocery Games initially decided to film in Field’s market partly due to the fact that this store had such a wide variety of food items, and partly due because it was a local family-owned business.

Field’s Market is still going strong to this day, and it even boasts an impressive three and a half stars on Yelp.

However, remember to check the Field’s Market Facebook page first if you are interested in dropping by the store, as they often post closure announcements for the filming of commercials and shows.

What happens behind the scenes at Flavortown Market?

The 24,000-square-foot set where the second Flavortown Market was built may not technically be a real-life grocery store, but it certainly functions like one.

This set features specially built wider isles for contestants to rush down and an impressive assortment of about 100,000 items which are all priced and scanned like in a real grocery store.

As a bonus, the Guy’s Grocery Games team makes sure to donate all of this fresh produce before it goes to waste.

Will a real Flavortown Market ever be built?

There is no doubt that the Flavortown Market, with its wide variety of produce, meat and baked goods looks as good as (if not better than) a real-life grocery store.

However, Fieri has confirmed that although he often gets the request to open a real store, the Flavortown Market will remain one of a kind.
