If you have found yourself in the cryptozoology sphere or browsing through the Travel Channel offerings over the course of the last few years, chances are, you have heard of Mountain Monsters.
Mountain Monsters is about a group of real mountain men who call themselves The A.I.M.S team as they attempt to prove the existence of some of the world’s most notorious cryptids ranging from the ever-elusive Bigfoot to Smoke Wolves.

Mountain Monsters has been on the air in one form or another for over a decade now. However, just like the rumors and folklore that so often accompany The A.I.M.S team’s investigations on the show, it seems like all we have to rely on to get details about the show’s next season – are rumors and speculation.
It has now been almost two years since the most recent eighth season of Mountain Monsters aired its final episode. But neither the cast nor Warner Bros. Discovery have provided any updates about the ninth season since then.
And while some rumors have been circulating that this upcoming ninth season may have already been filmed, we do not have an official release date just yet.
Examining Mountain Monsters’ airing schedule
Some of the unconfirmed rumors floating around about Mountain Monsters season nine have speculated that the show may return as soon as April or June of 2024.
However, since these rumors remain unconfirmed (and Travel Channel’s schedule seems to be pretty fully booked already), taking a closer look at the show’s airing history may be a safer bet for now.
Mountain Monsters’ airing schedule has been all over the map (probably because the show has moved around so much). But its most recent two seasons both started airing in January, as is shown below:

Therefore, it is entirely plausible that if Mountain Monsters does return for another season, it will only start airing in January of 2025.
What we know about Mountain Monsters season 9 so far
There is nothing quite like a good conspiracy theory to draw Mountain Monsters fans together.
And, because we have gone almost two years without an official update about this possibly upcoming season, conspiracy theories about the show’s future have been running rampant on all corners of the internet.
Some rumors speculate that the show would have returned to television in February of 2024 while others state that the show would never return at all.
However, perhaps the most compelling update in this entire saga comes from The Mountain Man on YouTube, who reached out to Jeff through his eBay store and confirmed that fans should “stay tuned” in January of 2024.
What could be holding up the process?
While it is always frustrating to be stuck waiting for an update on your favorite show, the reality is that there are plenty of reasons why new seasons of our favorite shows could get delayed.
In the case of Mountain Monsters’ pending ninth season, for instance, there are many behind-the-scenes issues which could have caused unnecessary delays.
This includes the on-going Warner Bros. Discovery merger, which has been in the works since 2022, and has seen countless shows and movies unceremoniously ripped from the airways, including Batgirl, Time Traveler’s Wife and more.
Moreover, the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike delayed shows like The Daily Show, Abbott Elementary, Stranger Things and more, and everyday obstacles like budgeting restrictions and scheduling conflicts all exacerbated delays.
What to expect if Mountain Monsters does return for another season
If Mountain Monsters does make it out of the weeds and onto our screens with a ninth season, there is absolutely no doubt that this new season will bring all of the drama and mischief that we have come to expect from The A.I.M.S Team and their adventures.
And since season eight ended with the A.I.M.S team right on the verge of a huge discovery out in the Tygart Valley, we can only hope that season nine will contain even more compelling evidence that there is some kind of Sasquatch lurking in those woods.
