While it might seem like a lot has changed in Mike Finnegan’s life over the last couple of years, he is still filming new RoadKill episodes.

The world of reality television shows on Warner Bros. Discovery’s specifically automotive-focused subsidiary, MotorTrend, moves almost as fast as the varying muscle cars, super trucks, and classic motorbikes that our favorite starts build restore and conjure up.

And with the added confusion of the always-turning internet rumor mill, it can be difficult to figure out what is happening behind the scenes of your favorite MotorTrend shows.

The future of RoadKill and its hosts

Fortunately, the executives at RoadKill and even the show’s main man, Finnegan, have quickly taken to social media to clear up the rumors regarding his exit from the beloved show.

So while you may have heard a few rumors floating around that this beloved show has said goodbye to its famed co-host, Mike has confirmed on multiple occasions that he does not have any plans to leave the show anytime soon.

In fact, he stated in an update video that he posted on his Instagram feed in March 2023 that though he has decided to “lighten [his] load a little bit”, he will still be doing RoadKill for the foreseeable future.

And since he has posted some behind-the-scenes snapshots from the show as recently as December 7, 2023, it seems like this fan-favorite host has stayed true to his word.

And if a move to Southern California and the pressures of family life were not enough to convince Finnegan to leave the show, fans can rest assured that it will probably be some time before he makes any drastic decisions to leave this longtime pet-project behind.

The most recent season of RoadKill

Sometimes, the only thing more confusing than figuring out whether the host of your favorite show will be returning to the show is figuring out when this show will air and where you can find it.

Fortunately, we also have the scoop on the newest season of RoadKill, which is as follows:

Detail Description

The show that Finnegan is leaving

Unfortunately, the video that Finnegan posted on his Instagram in March of 2023 did not only contain good updates, as this was also the video in which he officially announced that he would be parting ways with his other hit automotive show, Faster with Finnegan.

According to Finnegan, he made this difficult decision in order to ensure that he had more time to spend with his family, so that he could enjoy things like family dinners, basketball games and soccer games, moving forward.

But even though the show’s namesake is now gone, David Newbern and Michael Cotton have taken on the responsibility of continuing its legacy and it is still actively airing new episodes, though David Freiburger has joked that it should now be called “Faster Without Finnegan”.

Is David Freiburger still on RoadKill?

With all the commotion around whether  Finnegan will be leaving RoadKill or not, you may have also found yourself wondering about the show’s other host, David Freiburger.

Fortunately, much like Finnegan, it seems like Freiburger is entirely committed to this road trip, slash building, slash racing show and he will also continue to be featured on RoadKill for the foreseeable future alongside Finnegan and the rest of their well-oiled team.

In fact, he and Finnegan have both been posting quite excitedly about all of the silly projects that they have coming up in the newest season of RoadKill, which will be released sporadically throughout the next few months.

What to expect from the new season of RoadKill

The next episode of RoadKill (featuring both Mike Finnegan and David Freiburger, of course) is all set to air on December 18, 2023.

And while this season has already seen some amazing, out-of-the-box ideas from these two longtime fan-favorite gearheads, it seems like the upcoming episodes have them more excited than usual.

Both Finnegan and Freiburger have taken to their personal Instagram accounts to show off the spectacularly wacky build which will be showcased in one of RoadKill’s upcoming episodes.

In Freiburger’s words, it seems like Freiburger and Finnegan will be driving (or at least attempting to drive) “a ridiculous car-boat-thing” a couple of hundred miles across the country.

And knowing the chaos that usually ensures with this kind of mayhem, there is no doubt that it should prove to be an incredibly entertaining episode of RoadKill.
