Waterfall Market reopens to customers

The Waterfall Market has reopened after closing indefinitely due to the pandemic, and is now welcoming customers every Sunday at its Midrand location.

The Waterfall Market reopened on Sunday, 8 November 2020, according to an Instagram post on the day, and will be open every Sunday thereafter. The market has been closed since the start of the lockdown in March 2020, and had initially planned on reopening when the nationwide lockdown was officially over. Now, well into Alert Level 1, the Waterfall Market has decided to welcome customers and traders back, as well as live music and eateries for patrons to enjoy.

The market announced its then imminent reopening in early October 2020 on social media, stating, β€œWe have been very busy putting all of the correct Level 1 measures in place and, in the interests of maintaining social distancing, we have limited seating. We do have ample space on the beautiful lawns, so remember your blankets and masks.”

The market has also emphasised the strict policies that have been put in place, as entry will be denied to anyone who does not comply with the rules. The next Waterfall Market will take place on Sunday, 15 November 2020.
