The newly-announced season eight reboot of Kitchen Nightmares will start airing in September 2023.

Kitchen Nightmares is one of Chef Gordon Ramsay’s very first television shows and was on the air for seven seasons.

Now, Ramsay has decided to reboot this popular franchise after almost ten years. Season eight of Kitchen Nightmares will premiere before the end of 2023.

The Kitchen Nightmares history

Chef Gordon Ramsay had been a well-known figure in the culinary world way before he made his first notable television appearance in the Boiling Point miniseries in 1999.

Thus,  it did not take long for Ramsay’s signature fiery temper and exacting standards to land him his very own television show.

Ramsay’s Kitchen Nightmares, a reality series in which this accomplished celebrity chef is invited to visit and observe a series of failing restaurants, in order to try and rebuild the businesses from the ground up, officially started airing on Channel 4 in 2004.

This reality television format proved to be so popular in the United Kingdom that the show was later brought to the United States (US) in 2007, in the form of Kitchen Nightmares.

Updates for the Kitchen Nightmares 2023 release date

The US version of Ramsay’s show, Kitchen Nightmares, aired on Fox for a total of seven seasons between 2007 and 2014.

It followed Ramsay as he visited and attempted to save over 70 different restaurants ranging from small family-owned pizzerias to large steakhouses.

Kitchen Nightmares is still one of the most popular shows to ever come from Ramsay’s wildly successful small-screen career, but the show’s run was unexpectedly cut short in 2014, when Ramsay announced on his website that the seventh season would be its last, simply stating that it was “time to call it a day”.

And since almost a decade had passed without any new episodes, fans of the series had made their peace with the fact that Kitchen Nightmares had come to a permanent end.

That is, of course, until Fox surprisingly announced in May 2023 that the network would be bringing back this fan-favorite show, almost a decade after the previous season had aired.

Although Fox initially kept most of the details about Ramsay’s big Kitchen Nightmares comeback a closely guarded-secret, there have been a few key updates since this announcement.

This includes the oh-so important premiere date for Kitchen Nightmares’s eighth season, which has officially been set for Monday, September 25, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.

Moreover, the new Kitchen Nightmares episodes will be available for streaming shortly after they first air.

What to expect from Kitchen Nightmares season eight

This time around, Kitchen Nightmares will be moved away from its previous production house, ITV America, and will be produced by Ramsay’s own production house, Studio Ramsay.

And although Ramsay will no doubt have more of a say behind the scenes in this new installment, it is unlikely that either Ramsay or Fox will want to mess with their winning formula.

Therefore, fans should expect season eight of Kitchen Nightmares to feature the same level of drama, dirt, grime and Ramsay-isms as the previous seasons of the series.

Kitchen Nightmares will not be Ramsay’s only show on Fox this fall

The news of Kitchen Nightmares returning to television has spread like wildfire, but this reboot is not the only new, upcoming Ramsay content.

Fox has also announced that Ramsay’s other popular show, Hell’s Kitchen, will be coming back for its 22nd season.

This new season of Hell’s Kitchen will start airing just a few days after Kitchen Nightmares on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET.

Of course, fans can also see Ramsay on a vast variety of other shows which air on the network currently, including MasterChef Junior and Gordon Ramsay’s Food Stars.

Where to watch new episodes of Kitchen Nightmares

Right now, it seems like fans can tune in weekly on Mondays at 8 p.m. ET to watch the new episodes of Kitchen Nightmares.

Fans who do not have cable will still be able to watch these episodes as they air, through any television streaming service which provides access to Fox.

The best television streaming services that will give you access to Fox and all of its shows are Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, YouTube TV, DIRECTV STREAM, fubo TV, and Vidgo.

If you are willing to wait just a little bit longer for the new Kitchen Nightmares episode (or you accidentally missed the episodes when they first aired), the episodes will be available to stream on Hulu the day after they first air, alongside all of the show’s previous seasons.
