The cast of the seventh season of Texas Metal has not been confirmed yet, but many of the season six cast members will likely make an appearance.

The Ekstensive Metal Works team is way more than just a cast, and many of them have worked together for decades.

The show has not officially announced any details about season seven of Texas Metal yet, but it is very likely that most of the cast members from season six will return.

What makes Texas Metal so popular?

Bill Carlton and his team at Ekstensive Metal Works in Houston, Texas, have been hand-building custom cars since the business was established in the ‘90s

This team’s genuine approach to all of their builds, paired with the fact that the show truly takes the time to explain and focus on the work that they do to get each of their projects to the final product, is what has made Texas Metal such a fan-favorite among Velocity fans.

The Texas Metal 2023 cast

The very first episode of Texas Metal aired in 2017. Since then, the team at Ekstensive Metal Works has been built everything ranging from barbeque pits on wheels and custom electric trucks, to fully custom vintage cars for celebrities like John Cena, Slim Thug and even the local legend, Earl Campbell, for six seasons.

The most recent, sixth season of the show, only finished airing in May, 2023. In fact, this season aired so recently that MotorTrend has not even announced whether they will be renewing Texas Metal for a seventh season, just yet, or not.

Hopefully, it will just be a matter of time before the show does return to our screens. But since this is unconfirmed, we do not have any official update on which members of the Ekstensive Metal Works team will be joining the cast for the next season.

At this stage, the only thing that fans of the show can really do is to wait and see whether these cast members from the sixth season of the show will reprise their roles in the next season of Texas Metal:

Cast member Job title
Bill Carlton Owner of Ekstensive Metal Works
Jamie Marshall Fabricator
Carlos Soto Build Coordinator
Ryan Garner Fabricator
Bob Grant Metal Specialist
Arthur “Art” Martinez Shop hand
Jessie Flores Welder
Patrick Johnson Paint and Body Shop
John Burgess Interior Shop
Jennifer Shorb Interior Shop
Valerie Riojas Office Manager
Rudy Mora Fabricator

Other guest cast members, like John Fortunato (the Wrap Specialist from Wrap Stars), Tommy and Clay Wells (from 1 Way Diesel Performance) who do not work for Ekstensive Metal Works directly, may also appear in the next season.

Who will not return for the next season?

Most of the members of the Ekstensive Metal Works team who make it onto the show during one of their many projects, have been working for Bill Carlton for years.

However, it seems like the next season of Texas Metal may include some changes in this beloved cast.

Tim Donelson, who has been the General Manager at Ekstensive Metal Works since the beginning of Texas Metal, recently announced on his Instagram page that he resigned from the company following the show’s sixth season.

He has opened his own fabrication business called ‘Timmy John’s’, with John Villarreal-Vega (another former Texas Metal cast member).

What has Bill Carlton been up to since season 6 ended?

Bill Carlton founded Ekstensive Metal Works back in 1994, and eventually built the shop that we all know and love today on the show, right on a property that his father had purchased in 1976.

When Bill is not lining up new projects for the shop or filming for his other show, Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted (or possibly filming for Texas Metal season seven), he does share quite a few details about the shop and his personal life on his Instagram page.

This includes his experience getting his first-ever tattoo from Ken Kahler in February of 2023.

When will season seven of Texas Metal start airing?

There has been no official update on whether Texas Metal will be renewed for a seventh season yet, but the team at Ekstensive Metal Works certainly seems to be under the impression that the show’s renewal is inevitable.

The Ekstensive Metal Works Instagram page has the message “All New Season 7 in the works” displayed in its highlights, and if the behind-the-scenes build photos posted on the page are anything to go by, there are definitely enough new projects rolling through the shop to make for an exciting new season.

If the show sticks to its current pattern, we fans can expect this season to start airing anywhere from May 2024.
