The Ready to Love season nine cast are all focused on finding true love, but it turns out that trolling is what actually got Patrice on the show.
Although we know that the 20 hopeful singles who sign on to have all of their dirty dating laundry aired on OWN’s dating competition show, Ready to Love sign on to do the show because they are ready to find that someone special to settle down with –the process is often a little less romantic than that.
If you have tuned in to watch the newest season of the show, which is now being shot in the Fort Worth area, then you will recognize Patrice, one of season nine’s top contenders.
The real reason why Patrice applied to be on Ready to Love
While Patrice has certainly been giving it her all in the mingling department in the first few episodes, it turns out that her casting story is a little bit different to what we usually see with this show.
According to what Patrice recently shared in her K104-FM interview, she actually had a friend reach out and suggest that she apply to be on the show right after she shared a rather risky meme (in which she may or may not have joked about her distaste for the male species).
And while we still do not know exactly what prompted the producers to choose her in the end, we think it is pretty safe to assume that she has now changed her mind about the dating scene.
Patrice’s Ready to Love journey so far
Even though Patrice may not have had the best of luck in the romance department before she signed on to join the Ready to Love season nine cast, she has certainly been very lucky in the show so far.
In fact, Patrice has not been in the bottom two at all this season, and her entire season nine run can be outlined as follows:

What Patrice did before Ready to Love
Like many of the other hopeful singles who have appeared on season nine of Ready to Love, Patrice has quite the busy life outside of the show.
Not only is she an experienced massage therapist (with more than 19 years of experience under her belt), but she is also the owner of a luxury transportation company called Dragonfly Transportation.
And although Patrice is now well on her way to becoming a local Texas celebrity in her own right, her work with Dragonfly Transportation has allowed her to rub shoulders with the likes of Juvenile, Tyler Lepley, Miracle Watts, Yasmine Lopez, August Alsina, Twista, Shaneil Muir, Trick Daddy, Lance Gross, Patrice Roberts, and many more – even before she started appearing on television.
What you did not know about the Ready to Love casting process
Patrice’s radio confession about her own Ready to Love journey has actually revealed quite a bit about what happens behind the scenes before the show even hits the air. The Ready to Love casting process is actually quite lengthy.
Patrice revealed that it took about three months of interviews and back-and-forths for her to be cast on the show.
And as an additional bonus, the season nine ladies have also revealed that they underwent extensive psychological testing before they were given the green light.
And if you take into account that new seasons of Ready to Love only usually take about six weeks to film, it seems like the pre-production processes take up about two thirds of the show’s entire production schedule.
Our predictions for the rest of Patrice’s Ready to Love run
There is still quite a long way to go before the end of Ready to Love season nine. And it is certainly very likely that Thomas ‘Nephew Tommy’ Miles, has a few extra tricks up his sleeves before then.
However, from what we have seen of Patrice’s performance on the show so far, we cannot help but to speculate that she may just have what it takes to go all the way.
And while we have not seen Patrice form a very close bond with one of the season nine men just yet – she has also not had a huge falling-out with anyone either.
Patrice may be playing it smart by letting the other contestants weed themselves out first before making any drastic moves.
