Melrose Arch has announced the upcoming solo exhibition showcasing at The Melrose Gallery, the Ester Mahlangu 85, which is in celebration of the icon’s eighty-fifth birthday.
Melrose Arch will be hosting the Ester Mahlangu 85 solo exhibition at from Thursday, 19 November 2020, until Sunday, 20 December 2020. According to the Instagram post shared on Monday, 16 November 2020, the powerful exhibition is in celebration of prolific visual artist, Dr Esther Mahalngu’s eighty-fifth birthday, which she celebrated on Wednesday, 11 November 2020.
Esther is a globally acclaimed visual artist and much-loved cultural ambassador of the Ndebele nation. Her artwork has been internationally recognised for its bright and bold colours, which have been formed into abstract paintings that are inspired by Ndebele designs. She has showcased her artwork in galleries across the world, further endorsing the vibrancy of the South African culture and tradition. The exhibition will present many of her recent paintings, which are reportedly priced at over R100 000 each.
