As the months continue to tick by after the conclusion of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch season three, there are just a few prevailing questions that fans of the show still want answered.
If you have been a Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch fan since the very first season of the show, chances are that you have followed Duane Ollinger, Chad Ollinger and the rest of their team as they climbed, drilled and scavenged for clues all over this mysterious property.
However, regardless of all the new progress the team have made in the show’s most recent season – there is one Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch ‘mystery’ that reigns supreme – that reportedly 500 year-old box that Chad found deep within the cave system.
The box has always been one of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch’s most talked-about finds (for both good and bad reasons).
If you want to re-watch the entire expedition, from finding the box, to finding out what is inside the rocks, these are the episodes to watch:
Episode | Title | Description |
Season 1, Episode 2 | “Submerged Treasure” | Chad finds the box while exploring the cave system |
Season 1, Episode 3 | “Mormon Gold” | The team reviews the video footage of the box |
Season 2, Episode 1 | “No Dyin’ Tryin’ Today” | The team get new evidence that the box may be Aztec-made |
Season 2, Episode 2 | “Aztec or Not?” | The team review the results from the core sample taken from the box |
Season 2, Episode 3 | “Diving Blind” | The tea, return to the box |
Season 2, Episode 4 | “What’s Inside the Box?” | The team attempt to pull the box out |
Season 2, Episode 5 | “Radioactive Rocks” | The team identifies the metal found inside the rocks as gallium |
Technically, the Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch team has not yet been able to confirm what is inside of the mysterious box.
But, they have been able to examine the wood that the box is made of, as well as the rocks found on top of the box.
Unfortunately, these discoveries just make the whole mystery that much more intriguing.
After extensive testing, Eric (the resident Blind Frog Ranch Geologist) determined that the mysterious metal found hidden within the core of these rocks is gallium – which is most commonly used in the production of semiconductors and biomedical equipment and was first discovered in 1875 (many years after the Aztec civilization had already come to an end).
An update on everything they found in Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch season 3
Like most things Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch-related the discovery of the box (and the subsequent gallium-filled rocks) has not been without its fair share of controversy.
As most die-hard Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch fans will no-doubt already know, the show attracts just as many skeptics as it does true believers.
As a result, the discovery and failed retrieval of this box has always been a hot topic for debate amongst Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch viewers.
And, while true believers see the discovery of gallium as a sure sign that some ancient civilization must have hidden something pretty spectacular within this box – skeptics have called everything from the age of the box, to the processes used to retrieve it into question.
There is even an entire Reddit thread dedicated to debating exactly how the Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch team went about “staging” this find.
At this point, it seems like a forgone conclusion that the fourth season of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch will be announced within the next few months.
After all, Chad, James and the Blind Frog Ranch Outpost & Tours Facebook account have all but confirmed that they have already begun filming for a new season.
But, while the show may be coming back to our screens very soon – there is still no guarantee that the team will continue their investigation into what is inside this box, why this box is hidden so deep within the cave system, or who put it there to begin with.
And, if we were to make an educated guess, season four of Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch will probably be centered around the new entrance to the cave system and what can be gleaned, once the team travel a little bit deeper into these mysterious caves.
Since the box is still trapped underwater and for better or for worse, seems too fragile to remove, it has likely moved down a few places on the priority list, for now.
