Almost a month prior to the Season 5 premiere of Expedition Bigfoot, Ronny LeBlanc confirmed that he would not be returning to the show.
Without delving into too much detail, LeBlanc stated in a video published on his social media on July 30, 2024, that “yes, I am no longer a part of Expedition Bigfoot, I chose to leave for a multitude of reasons.”
In the same video LeBlanc also chided the Bigfoot community for not being supportive enough, saying “it is just disappointing to hear and to see all this…going on in the Bigfoot community. Where everyone should be supporting each other, but yet we are starting to see it deteriorate.”
LeBlanc was responding in the wake of the backlash directed at a young Bigfoot Researcher, one Daniel Barnett from the UK, who the Bigfoot community targeted, saying among other things, that Barnett had faked DNA samples he sent for testing.
Addressing the incident, LeBlanc rebuked the Bigfoot community, saying that “all of you should be really ashamed of yourselves quite frankly. This is a kid that’s coming into the field and is probably going to exit it now because of all this.”
Despite his departure from Expedition Bigfoot, LeBlanc continues his Bigfoot research work, albeit independently, and has been a speaker at many recent Bigfoot community events, including a talk entitled “What is Bigfoot” in conjunction with the Woods Memorial Library in Barre, Massachusetts.
Expedition Bigfoot’s latest episode, which was the opener for Season 5, featured regulars, primatologist Dr. Mireya Mayor and Bigfoot experts Bryce Johnson and Russell Acord, and they were on the hunt for the legendary cryptid, and the team went back to the Lost Coast of Northern California, the so-called “epicenter of Bigfoot activity.”
