Randpark Golf Club has given amateur golfers the option to continue playing golf at its facilities, despite the Joburg Open 2020 taking place on the Firethorn Course.
Randpark Golf Club took to Instagram on Wednesday, 18 November 2020, to inform club members that as of Monday, 23 November 2020, they will be allowed to use the driving range whilst the rest of the club remains closed. As Randpark Golf Club is hosting the Joburg Open 2020, which began today, 19 November 2020, the Firethorn Course will be closed to the public, with spectators also not being allowed onto the course.
Despite this, golfers are permitted to book slots for individual or multi-player bays at the driving range, where they will be able to utilize the club’s in-range experience technology for a relatively realistic experience. Rudzani Tshitangano has made use of the option, and reflected on the experience by stating, “It was an awesome afternoon. A technological innovation that provides intimate fun with friends, clients and customers. It’s a 2020 must-try for both golf enthusiasts and novices alike.”
