Melrose Arch has announced the upcoming launch of its Bitcoin ATM, which will be available at the shopping precinct, making it the ninth ATM of its kind in the country.
Melrose Arch shared an Instagram post on Tuesday, 24 November 2020, announcing that it will be introducing the new Bitcoin ATM to the precinct. The date of the instalment was not revealed; however, customers were informed that they would have access to it during the festive season. The Melrose Arch location of the Bitcoin ATM will be the ninth in the country, with two others being located in Johannesburg at Daratone and Sandton City.
A Bitcoin ATM is a kiosk station that allows customers to buy and sell Bitcoin using the automated teller machine. They work in a similar way as a traditional ATM, however, their purpose is to encourage automated transactions. The ATMs are connected to the internet, allowing the insertion of cash or a credit card in exchange for Bitcoin. Melrose Arch has yet to reveal the exact location of the ATM, and is expect to share new information within the week.
