Louise & Anna is the new restaurant that will be taking over the oyster bar, Shucked, in Craighall, which permanently shut its doors after the hard nationwide lockdown.
Louise & Anna announced in an Instagram post on Thursday, 19 November 2020, that it has opened its doors at the old Shucked venue on Jan Smuts Avenue in Craighall. The new restaurant offers a southern creole-inspired menu, which hopes to introduce Johannesburg residents to Louisiana flavours and dishes.
The post stated, “2020 has brought a lot of changes! We’ve changed too and we’d like you to stay a part of our new journey! Please meet Louise & Anna, your new local restaurant which is taking over from Shucked. We are sad to let Shucked go, but we are very excited about this new venture and hope that you’ll join us.”
Shucked was a popular restaurant which specialised in fresh oysters and champagne. The restaurant decided to permanently close amid the coronavirus pandemic, due to the financial implications of the nationwide lockdown.
