Fixer Upper: Welcome Home season 2 has not been announced yet, but it is likely that the show will be renewed soon.

Fixer Upper: Welcome Home is a much-awaited reboot of the very successful Fixer Upper original home renovation show.

This reboot has not been officially renewed for a second season yet, but it has been one of the biggest draws for Magnolia Network and a passion-project for Chip and Joanna Gaines. As a result, there is little doubt that it will be renewed eventually.

About the Fixer Upper reboot

When the original Fixer Upper show was airing on HGTV from 2013 to 2018, it was the most popular home renovation program on the network. In fact, Fixer Upper brought in more than 75 million viewers per season at the height of its success.

However, HGTV fans were not the only ones who missed the show when it stopped airing and in 2021, Chip and Joanna Gaines finally decided to reboot their beloved show with Fixer Upper: Welcome Home.

The show proved to be almost as popular as the original, even though it was only available through Discovery Plus and Magnolia Network.

Is there a season 2 of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home?

The second season of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home has not been officially been confirmed yet.

However, since its first season managed to draw so many viewers to the newly-launched Magnolia Network, it is likely just a matter of time before the show’s renewal is officially announced.

The rebooted Fixer Upper: Welcome Home initially got off to a somewhat rocky start. The show was reportedly originally supposed to air on Chip and Joanna Gaines’ new television network called Magnolia Network.

However, after Magnolia Network’s launch was delayed on account of the COVID-19 pandemic, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home started airing on the Discovery Plus subscription-based streaming service in 2021, instead.

Fortunately, when the Magnolia Network launched in January of 2021, Fixer Upper: Welcome Home was one of the first shows to appear on the network.

Even though Fixer Upper: Welcome Home had such a delayed launch on Magnolia Network, it still managed to establish itself as one of the top ten programs on cable television among adults and one of the top three programs on the 9 p.m. timeslot.

In fact this show is likely one of the biggest reasons why fans tune in to the Magnolia Network.

Chip and Joanna Gaines have also confirmed that the whole reason why they decided to come back with a new version of Fixer Upper in the first place was because they “missed sharing the stories of these families and their homes.”

This further emphasises the fact that they are not likely to cancel Fixer Upper: Welcome Home anytime soon.

How many episodes of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home are there?

Until Fixer Upper: welcome Home is renewed for its second season, it is only has nine episodes available. These episodes can be summarised as follows:

Other Fixer Upper content

If you have already finished the first season of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home, you can still find some new Fixer Upper content in the form of the Fixer Upper spin-off series of a spin-off series, called Fixer Upper: The Castle.

The series follows Chip and Joanna Gaines as they renovate and restore the Cottonland Castle in their hometown of Waco, Texas. This show is also available on Magnolia Network.

What to expect from Fixer Upper: Welcome Home if it is renewed for a second season

If and when Fixer Upper: Welcome Home does return to Magnolia Network (and likely also to Discovery Plus), the show is likely to stick with its tried and tested format.

This means that long-time fans of the Fixer Upper franchise can expect to see Chip and Joanna Gaines return to their roles as the hosts of the show.

You can also expect to watch the couple completely transform homes in the Waco area that are in dire need of some updating and re-decorating.

It is also likely that Clint Harp, who was heavily featured in the original Fixer Upper show, will not be featured in the second season of Fixer Upper: Welcome Home in favour of hosting his own show, which is called Restoration Road with Clint Harp, on Magnolia Network.
