Louisiana Law has not yet officially been renewed for another season, but there is still hope that the show will return to our screens very soon.

If you thought that all the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries does was to issue and check boat and fishing licenses, then Animal Planet’s hit reality show Louisiana Law has proved you wrong.

This show follows the dedicated professionals of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries as they go about patrolling one of the most complex and varied jurisdictions in the entire United States.

The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is tasked with ensuring that both the fish and wildlife laws, as well as the state and federal criminal laws, are adhered to at all times.

But with more than 200 miles to cover, these officers often have to face everything from illegal fishing, and missing person cases to animal relocation, medical emergencies and so much more.

Louisiana Law season 4 predictions

Louisiana Law’s third season aired its finale episode just a few months ago on Sunday, May 21, 2023.

However, if you have been tuning in to watch this show regularly, you may already be wondering when brand-new episodes will be hitting your television screen.

Unfortunately, Discovery has not  officially renewed Louisiana Law for a fourth season yet.  With that being said, though, the show has also not been officially cancelled.

And given that there are always new cases for the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries to solve and the show seems fairly popular with audiences so far, there is still hope that Louisiana Law will make its season four comeback sooner rather than later.

When you can expect Louisiana Law season 4 to start airing

The official premiere date for Louisiana Law season four will likely only be confirmed after the series is officially renewed. However, until then, we can make a few educated guesses based on when the previous seasons of the show aired.

The first three seasons of Louisiana Law aired as follows:

Louisiana Law season Season premiere date Season conclusion date
Season 1 May 9, 2021 October 10, 2021
Season 2 April 23, 2022 May 21, 2022
Season 3 April 2, 2023 May 21, 2023

If this pattern holds, it is fair to assume that the fourth season of Louisiana Law may start airing as early as April 2024, with the season airing until the latter half of May 2024.

Louisiana Law by the numbers

Whilst there are many loyal fans who absolutely love watching what the officers of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries get up to in a day, Louisiana Law’s audience has not quite reached the viewership numbers of other Discovery fan-favorites like Gold Rush (which has an average viewership of over 1.4 million), Expedition Unknown (with an average viewership of over 1.1 million) and Homestead Rescue (which has an average viewership of over 900,000).

However, according to USTDB, the series is still performing fairly well, and it managed to draw in an audience of just under half a million viewers by the start of season three in April of this year.

And since the show’s average audience stayed about the same throughout this most recent season, it may still have a higher chance of being renewed than a different show, which saw a stark decline in viewership over the course of the 2023 television season.

The expected Louisiana Law season four cast

The cast for any Louisiana Law episode depends largely on what the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries officers come across in their workday.

However, if the show continues the way that it has been so far, fans can expect to see some fan-favorite faces make their return to the series.

This includes Sgt. Scott Dupre, who has pretty much become the face of the show at this point.

It also includes many other officers, including Lt. Joey Thompson, Sgt. Leroy Tarver, Cpl. Blaine Wagner, Cpl. Rick Clark, Cpl. Michael Hebert, and many more.

What to expect if Louisiana Law does return for a fourth season

One of the things about Louisiana Law that has kept the show’s dedicated fans coming back for three seasons is the fact that you never quite know what these officers will come up against next.

And while the season three finale certainly ended on quite a stressful note, with many of the officers involved in the emergency measures extended during Hurricane Ida, there is certainly always something else on the horizon.

If Louisiana Law does return for a fourth season, there is a good chance that the new episodes will contain even more interesting and nail-biting cases that fans can follow along with from home.
