Martin Bros. Customs, the shop featured on Iron Resurrection, is still currently in business, but it is not accepting new build submissions at the moment.
Iron Resurrection has set itself apart from the other reality shows on television by being extremely authentic and knowledgeable.
Martin Bros. Customs, which is the real-life shop featured throughout the show, is still in business and actually takes on new projects. It has even been working on various projects between seasons.
Why fans love Iron Resurrection
Automotive restoration and customization shows have really been picking up steam in the last few years. Now there are even entire networks dedicated to airing programming that will appeal to your inner gearhead.
However, as every true automotive-aficionado will already know, just because there is a wide variety of content available in this genre, it does not mean that all of it is good, or even entertaining to watch.
Joe Martin and the rest of the team members get to show off their restoration and custom work on MotorTrend’s Iron Resurrection.
Moreover, they are among the few television mechanics and fabricators who have earned a reputation for truly having the knowledge, skills and passion required to pull off some amazing builds.
Is Iron Resurrection still in business?
Iron Resurrection first started airing in 2016, and the show has maintained its fan-favorite status pretty much ever since then, for various reasons.
Unlike many of the other reality shows on television ( even those focused on cars) Iron Resurrection focuses on the already established Martin Bros. Customs shop, which was founded by Joe Martin way before the show started airing.
As a result, Iron Resurrection lacks much of the over-the-top drama which is usually manufactured for the cameras.
The show really tries to explain every build as the Martin Bros. Customs team works to restore the rusty and broken cars that roll into the shop, from the inside, out.
The Martin Bros. Customs shop not only forms the set and backdrop for the Iron Resurrection show, but is actually a real, working shop in Texas Hill Country in the United States.
Although the Iron Resurrection show is currently between seasons, the Martin Bros. Customs shop is still in business.
According to the Martin Bros. Customs website, they are not currently accepting new build submissions.
But if you really want to get your hands on something from this shop, they do have a variety of parts and merchandise like custom t-shirts and hats available currently.
When will Iron Resurrection be back for a seventh season?
The most recent sixth season of Iron Resurrection finished airing in December of 2022.
And although MotorTrend has not officially announced the show’s renewal for season seven just yet, it seems like this will only be a matter of time, as there has been no notable behind-the-scenes squabbles and the Martin Bros. Customs shop seems to be doing just fine.
So far, new seasons of Iron Resurrection have kept within a fairly standard schedule and have been released one-season-per-year.
If this pattern holds true for the seventh season, you can expect to see new episodes of Iron Resurrection airing as soon as the end of 2023 or the beginning of 2024.
Who will not be returning to the show next season?
Joe Martin, his wife Amanda, his brother Jason and the rest of the team at the Martin Bros Customs shop are a large part of why Iron Resurrection has managed to remain so popular among fans for the last six seasons.
However, just like with any real-life automotive shop, there have been some changes in the employees (and cast) in the last few years.
Several of the beloved Iron resurrection cast members, including Phil Cato and Javier “Shorty” Ponce, have left the show and will likely not be included in the new season when it starts airing.
What has Martin Bros. Customs been up to since season 6 aired?
Even when Iron Resurrection is not actively filming, the team at Martin Bros. Customs still has more than enough projects rolling into the shop to keep them busy.
Martin Bros. Customs tackles a variety of builds both on and off the show.
In fact, the Martin Bros. Customs Instagram account reveals that they have been doing work on projects ranging from a homemade custom-built frame for a 1960 Impala and some beautiful metal and body work on an old Camaro, to a cute little P-10 Stepvan for a local whiskey business, in the past few weeks.
If these projects are any indication of what is to come, fans can look forward to a range of creative builds in the (hopefully) upcoming seventh season.
