Bobby Flay does tend to win Beat Bobby Flay more often than the other contestants, but this does not mean that the competition is rigged.
Beat Bobby Flay certainly does not make it easy for the contestants to beat the celebrity chef at his own game. But several sources and Flay himself have confirmed that the show is not rigged.
Is Beat Bobby Flay rigged?
Beat Bobby Flay’s premise is quite simple – two chefs compete head-to-head, and the winner then gets to face off against Flay in the final round.
To be fair, the odds are stacked in Bobby’s favor, he knows the kitchen, he knows the judges and he gets to sit out the first round. Moreover, it does seem suspicious that Flay always seems to win.
Fortunately, Flay’s insistent claims that he really does not win as often as it seems have been backed up by a few outside sources that confirmed that the show is not rigged at all.
This includes a Reddit user ‘eatfellowhumans’ who identified himself as a former Beat Bobby Flay contestant and co-host, Justin Warner, who confirmed that Bobby really never knows which dish he will be cooking in the final round.
‘jbreezytho’, another Reddit user who was part of the taping of an episode also confirmed that the episodes are extremely realistic.
Breaking it down by the numbers
Of the 416 competitions that have taken place on the show, Flay has won 258 of them and has lost a total of 158. That means that he wins about 62% percent of the time, which seems much more realistic in the grand scheme of things.
It is also important to remember that Flay is an incredibly skilled chef who has had a very long and successful career.
He has earned three James Beard Foundation Awards and was inducted into the Culinary Hall of Fame in 2015, among other accolades, and he truly is extremely difficult to beat.
Competitors have never had a bad word to say about Bobby Flay
If Beat Bobby Flay was indeed rigged, you would expect that throughout the 33 seasons, at least one disgruntled loser would have spoken out about their experience.
However, this has never been the case. In fact , chef Palak Patel (who actually won the competition) revealed that Flay was a good sport even after losing.
So, how do chefs actually Beat Bobby Flay?
Some of Flay’s fellow celebrity chefs who have guest-starred on the show weighed in on how they would go about actually beating this incredibly versatile chef.
For the most part, these chefs agreed that would-be contestant should stick to their own guns and that focusing on flavor-packed food will be the key to securing the win.
