Madalyn will now go down in Press Your Luck history, but this episode almost did not make it to air.

Appearing on a game show is a dream shared by countless people across the globe. However, it is not any easier to be cast on a game show than it is to win the game.

If you tuned in to watch the newest episode of ABC’s rebooted Press Your Luck, then you may have seen the substitute teacher, Madalyn Foley, compete for her chance to walk away with the $1 million grand prize.

However, Madalyn recently revealed in an episode of Morgan Pagel’s Keeping Up With Ka$h (KUWK) podcast that she almost missed her chance entirely.

Madalyn’s road to Press Your Luck fame

According to what Madalyn remembers, she lost her phone on a Ferris wheel, just days after she had gotten past the initial interview stages for Press Your Luck.

Fortunately though, this plucky aspiring lawyer managed to retrieve her phone before the Press Your Luck team tried to get in touch with her again, and her audition process could continue without a hitch.

Though she almost missed out on her 15 seconds of reality television fame once again when this episode of Press Your Luck (which was originally supposed to air back in September of 2022) was postponed to make room for additional coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s death.

Fortunately, Madalyn’s episode of Press Your Luck has now officially aired, and (spoiler alert) – Madalyn walked away from the competition tens of thousands of dollars richer.
