Landoll’s Mohican Castle is still open all these years later, but there has been no update about the couple that got married there on Hotel Hell.

There is really no telling where a certain Hotel Hell episode may be heading when you first tune in, but the surprise wedding in the “Landoll’s Mohican Castle” episode was certainly a first for the show.

In case you missed it, in this episode, Ramsay not only challenged Marta and Jimmy (Landoll’s Mohican Castle’s owner and general manager) to live up to his high standards, but he also pulled off a last-minute wedding for a couple named Eric and Roxanne.

What happened to Eric and Roxanne after their Hotel Hell wedding?

Fortunately, in classic Hotel Hell fashion, Ramsay and the hotel’s staff were able to pull things together just in time by the end of this episode, to give this newly-wed couple the big day of their dreams.

And to set Landoll’s Mohican Castle up for years of success as a specialty venue, of course.

But this is pretty much where this couple’s reality television story ends. Since Eric and Roxanne were simply guests at the hotel, there has not really been any update about their whereabouts since their wedding day.

This is aside from the instance where Jimmy confirmed that the Hotel Hell team flew them in from Toledo especially for this episode.

Hopefully, this means that they have lived a fairly happy and peaceful life since this episode aired in 2016.

The build-up to Landoll’s Mohican Castle’s Hotel Hell appearance

None of the hotels, motels, inns or lodges profiled on Hotel Hell have had an easy run of it, but Landoll’s Mohican Castle had a rockier road than most.

The castle’s rollercoaster history leading up to its big Hotel Hell refurbishment, is outlined as follows:

Date Event
2002 Landoll’s Mohican castle first opens to the public
2008 A fire breaks out at Landoll’s Mohican Castle’s restaurant, destroying much of the property
2009 Marta takes over the operations of the hotel
2015 Jimmy sells his shares in his former business firm and becomes the co-owner and manager of the hotel
December, 2015 Ramsay and the Hotel Hell crew arrive to start filming
July 26, 2016 The “Landoll’s Mohican Castle” episode premieres

While Ramsay’s Hotel Hell interventions often happen just a little too late to make a real difference, it seems like the celebrity chef’s changes and the added publicity generated through this episode, really worked its magic this time around.

Jimmy confirmed in 2016 that the show had boosted their occupancy levels considerably, explaining that the June 2016 occupancy-levels had skyrocketed to 95 percent and July’s to 93 percent.

As an additional bonus, the castle also got bookings for up to 2019 at the time.

Landoll’s Mohican Castle got another upgrade in 2018, when the castle was expanded with 14 brand-new suites called ‘The Stables’ and dozens of new employees. The castle now reportedly hosts over 100 weddings a year.

It seems like Ramsay was truly impressed with Landoll’s Mohican Castle

Ramsay can certainly never be accused of overwhelming the hotel owners that he meets on Hotel Hell with friendliness and compliments.

But it seems like this celebrity chef developed a soft spot for Landoll’s Mohican Castle (and the business’s owners, Marta and Jimmy) during his 2016 stay.

In fact, Jimmy told The Columbus Dispatch in 2016 that Ramsay even considered the castle for his own private family events, stating “The last thing he told me is ‘I’ve got daughters who are going to need a place to get married’”, and Marta confirmed that Ramsay still checked in with her from time to time, even after the filming of the episode.

The hotel’s owner later added in a different interview that Ramsay admitted that Landoll’s Mohican Castle was one of the most beautiful places that he had ever been to in Ohio, which is high-praise, coming from this well-travelled chef.

Landoll’s Mohican Castle is still open for business in 2023

It seems as though Marta, Jimmy and the rest of the Landoll’s Mohican Castle staff really made the best of their time on Hotel Hell, as their business is still open, and seemingly still thriving.

Jimmy’s LinkedIn profile reveals that he is now no longer just the general manager of the hotel, but has seemingly stepped up as the hotel’s Chief Executive Officer since 2020.

Landoll’s Mohican Castle has also maintained an impressive average rating of 4 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor. The castle also currently has an excellent 8.8 out of 10 rating on Booking.com.
