Fourways Crossing launches Festive Food Bank initiative

Fourways Crossing has called upon residents to spread some joy this festive season by donating to the Festive Food Bank, which offers a free tree decoration in return.

Fourways Crossing launched its Festive Food Bank initiative on Tuesday, 1 December 2020, which will be running until Friday, 18 December 2020. The charitable initiative calls upon residents from surrounding areas to donate non-perishable items to the food bank, in exchange for a free personalised bauble for the Christmas tree.

The initiative was started to try and raise enough food to feed families in various parts of Johannesburg during the holiday season, particularly those who are unable to provide for themselves this year. In particular, Fourways Crossing will be donating to the Diepsloot Care Foundation and Daily Bread Org.

The donation box has also contributed to the retail park’s Christmas décor, as it is a wooden structure situated near the Pick n Pay entrance. The structure has been decorated with Christmas ornaments, and also includes greenery around the railings which have faux snow sprayed onto them.
