It is not often we hear from the people we watch on our screens. We usually have to rely on characterizations others and the mainstream media provide – not so for Expedition X’s Heather Amaro.
Ahead of the Season 8 premiere of Expedition X, Heather Amaro chose to hit the ground running. She got ahead of the media coverage frenzy by releasing a video bio of herself.
In the video, published on her social media on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, Amaro provided more context to who she is beyond the highly publicized “third-generation paranormal investigator” moniker.
Explaining why she is a third-generation paranormal investigator, Amaro said “me and my mom have done a ton of investigations together, it’s so much fun.” Amaro adds she has been “doing investigation for 20 years…I freaking love it.”
The Little Rock, Arkansas native says she was born on the summer solstice, a fact she admits she “freaking loves.” Amaro also revealed that he has a rescue dog, who she says is a “hot mess, but super-duper cute.”
Above all else, Amaro loves adventure. And explains it feels like she has “literally been prepping for Expedition X” her entire life.
She says she is most excited about going to “these incredible places all over the world, with unique access” that she would otherwise never get.
As for the first episode of Expedition X’s eighth season, it was a rough start for Amaro. She fell sick while exploring one of the basements at the Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum in Weston, West Virginia.

During the episode, Amaro said she felt horrible, complaining of feeling drained and nauseous, and had quite a violent coughing episode.

Hopefully, this episode will be a much better experience for Amaro as the she and the rest of Expedition X team continues to explore the now abandoned psychiatric hospital.
