Coobs Parktown North has opened its doors, following the closure of the original restaurant in central Parktown; a decision that led to it now being able to offer a more intimate feel.
Coobs Parktown North opened its doors in November 2020, after the original restaurant in central Parktown closed amid the national lockdown. Whilst the other location was more spacious, the new site provides a more intimate feel for casual fine dining dishes by Chef James Diack. The foundation of the brand has remained the same, as it continues to uphold its commitment to seasonal ingredients, although now with a new menu which it has described as “refined dining.”
The menu items showcase Coobs’ attention to detail, as they draw from different elements of food to create all-encompassing dishes. The creativity of each dish remains true to its fine dining offering, which can be enjoyed for lunch or dinner.
The new restaurant has raw brick-back walls that add a Mediterranean feel to the aesthetic, accented with green splashes of colour and the green feature wall. The bar area is a focal point, as it is placed at the centre with the wine cellar being tucked away towards the back, whilst still being visible enough to showcase the extensive range on offer.
