Chris Valentine has completed a large mural on the staircase of the Novartis building in Waterfall City, as part of the Art In The City activation project.
Chris Valentine and Waterfall City announced on Instagram on Thursday, 26 November 2020, that the large mural at the Novartis building in Waterfall City has been completed. The acclaimed artist created the African-inspired part of the Art In The City activation project, in an area that is easily accessible to the public.
The mural is located on the stairs of the Novartis building, near the Mall of Africa precinct. Waterfall City visitors and residents are encouraged to take pictures on the staircase and share them, for a chance to win a R500 shopping voucher to spend at Mall of Africa.
Chris also took to his personal Instagram page a day earlier on Wednesday, 25 November 2020, to share a progress video of his painting, which saw him intricately adding colour to the visible side of the staircase. He captioned the video, “I’m so excited to finally be able to show you guys this huge staircase mural I just finished. I’m so incredibly honoured to have had this opportunity to initiate the Waterfall City art initiative!”
