The cast of Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted features the Mod Mafia, Wide Open Garage and 1 Way Diesel custom shops.
Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted may be a spin-off, but it is a wholly different show. It showcases the work of three custom shops located in the Texas area.
The cast from the first season of the show includes the teams at Mod Mafia Automotive, Wide Open Garage and 1 Way Diesel Performance. It also includes a few brief appearances from Bill Carlton.
What Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted is all about
Fans have loved watching Bill Carlton and the rest of his team at Texas Metal’s Ekstensive Metal Works do everything in their power to customize everything from muscle cars to trucks for six seasons.
This concept proved to be so popular, in fact, that it inspired its very own spin-off series called Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted.
Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted follows some of the other up-and-coming custom truck shops as they endeavour to execute custom builds that are even bigger, bolder and cooler than those that we have seen coming out of the Ekstensive Metal Works shop on the original show.
Cast of Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted
In Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted the focus is shifted away from Bill Carlton and his amazing team (with which fans of the original series will already be very familiar).
The focus is newly placed on some of the other custom shops in the Texas area, which rival the skillsets and creativity of the Ekstensive Metal Works shop.
Although Texas might not always be the first place that gearheads think of when it comes to hubs for all kinds of automotive customization, Bill Carlton and the cast of Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted want to change that perception.
They are now moving towards builds ranging from an absolutely totaled Lamborghini to a custom Hummer built for none other than Brian Johnson, the Liver King.
Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted cast showcases the work of three separate custom shops, including 1 Way Diesel (which longtime fans will recognize from some of the Ekstensive Metal Works’s builds) located in Nacogdoches, Wide Open Garage.
This is also in Houston, as well as, Mod Mafia which is in Magnolia, and they work to build some of the biggest trucks that have ever graced the Texas roads.
Of course, in true spin-off fashion, Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted also features the occasional cameo from Bill Carlton and is also available to stream MotorTrend+, .
Mod Mafia
Mod Mafia is one of the newer shops featured in Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted.
And although this shop has only been around for about six years, and it does not quite have the family history that many other Texas-based custom shops do, Josh George and Mark Pyles certainly know what they are doing.
Mod Mafia Automotive is one of the leading Hummer/ HMMWV specialists in the world.
This shop does everything from servicing and modifying to manufacturing and engineering a wide range of specially-made Hummer/HMMWV parts to ensure that their builds are unlike anything ever seen before.
Wide Open Garage
In the very first episode of Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted, titled “Diesel 1979 Little Red Express”, Bill explains that he has been friends with Daniel from Wide Open Garage since they were children.
Once you see the absolutely huge MegaTrucks and mud trucks that this shop creates, it is not difficult to see why they would have found common ground at such a young age.
Wide Open Garage is located just down the road from the Ekstensive Metal Works shop in real life.
Moreover, it is run by both Daniel and his father, David “Dave” Donnan, and it also features work from the talented Robert Brown and other members of the Wide Open Garage team.
1 Way Diesel
1 Way Diesel is the only shop on this list that die-hard Texas Metal fans would have already been familiar with before they tuned in to watch this new spin-off.
This is because this shop has already been featured as the engine experts in a few of the Texas Metal episodes through the years.
However, being one of the custom shops featured in the first season of Texas Metal’s Loud and Lifted has given Tommy Wells and his sons Chase Wells and Clay Wells an opportunity to show off what they are capable of.
1 Way Diesel Performance is the top diesel shop in East Texas which specializes in just about everything diesel-related – from sourcing various diesel parts and repairing motors, to building diesel pro-mod race cars, and everything in between.
