The co-hosts of Renovation 911 are sisters and they have been best friends since childhood.

Renovation 911 stands out from all the other home renovation shows on television because of the scale of the restorations that are showcased on the show.

The hosts of the show, Kirsten Meehan and Lindsey Uselding, are sisters and they have actually been in the emergency restoration business for a long time.

What makes Renovation 911 different?

Sometimes it can feel like all of the home renovation shows on television start blending together after a while. However, HGTV’s new show, Renovation 911, takes home renovation to a whole new level.

Instead of focusing on the functionality or look and feel of the homes, Renovation 911 focuses on projects where floods, fires, mold and other kinds of disasters have completely destroyed families’ homes.

Kirsten Meehan and Lindsey Uselding then help these families through the emergency restoration process, so that they can get back on their feet.

Are the ladies on Renovation 911 sisters?

If you are an avid home renovation reality television show watcher, you will likely already know that the hosts of a show have a lot to do with how enjoyable the show is to watch.

Renovation 911 has two co-hosts – Kirsten Meehan and Lindsey Uselding, who have both been in the emergency home restoration business for quite a long time.

The sisters are passionate about sharing their expertise with the families that they help and the fans that watch their show.

It turns out that Meehan and Uselding’s incredible on-screen chemistry  can be attributed to their deeper connection as real-life sisters and best friends.

Uselding even confirmed that she and her sister are “the kind of siblings that actually get along really well because our strengths are so different” and that this is part of what makes their dynamic as co-hosts work so well.

These two sisters had their start in the entertainment industry at a very young age when performed as dancers on television. Even though Meehan and Uselding did deviate from careers in show business as they grew up, they have always been close.

With the help of all of their friends and family members, who filmed them and documented the work that they do together on a daily basis, they were finally able to get their idea for their very own home restoration television show off the ground after four years in 2023 with Renovation 911.

Emergency restoration is a family business for Kirsten Meehan and Lindsey Uselding

Meehan and Uselding are not the first members of their family to enter the emergency restoration field. In fact, their father, Ted Brinkman, is the one who cultivated their love for this  business.

Brinkman (who is also featured in the show) originally joined Ungerman, a specialty emergency restoration company, in 1977. He would take the two sisters on the job with him whenever he could.

Eventually, Brinkman passed a portion of this business down to the two sisters and they still work for the company to this day.

Kirsten Meehan and Lindsey Uselding have clearly defined roles on the show

Working with family can be difficult, but Meehan and Uselding have put their different skills to good use on Renovation 911.

On the show, and in real life, Meehan is tasked with handling all of the administrative tasks. This includes helping the families on the show with the process of getting their insurance claims filed and approved.

Uselding, on the other hand, is tasked with overseeing most of the construction and design that goes into each one of their projects.

The sisters work together to ensure that the families that they help get homes that feel as good as new when all of the renovations have been finished.

Kirsten Meehan and Lindsey Uselding have always been close friends

Many fans who tune in to watch Renovation 911 for the first time maybe shocked to find that Meehan and Uselding are just as close in real life as they appear on the show.

Besides the bonding experience of accompanying their father to emergency restoration jobs and dancing together when they were younger, Meehan and Uselding have always been the best of friends.

The sisters are so close in real life that they even studied at the same university, the University of Wisconsin. Moreover, Uselding has confirmed that they always shared a room growing up, even if there was an unused spare room in the house.

Even after they were well into adulthood, Meehan and Uselding still decided to live near each other and work for the same company.
