Things have certainly been heating up in DaKiya’s personal life since season five of Ready to Love aired.
Now that Tommy Miles and the rest of the Ready to Love crew are getting pretty settled in Fort Worth for the show’s ninth season, it is about time that we take a look at what happened to cast members from seasons past.
If you have been a Ready to Love fan for a long time, you will probably remember season five of the show, which profiled 20 hopeful singles from the D.C. area.
What happened to DaKiya after season 5?
We cannot discuss anything Ready to Love season five-related without mentioning this season’s ‘Classiest Lady’, DaKiya.
While season five of Ready to Love definitely featured a few interesting connections, DaKiya notoriously failed to find love with any of the Ready to Love season nine suitors. And sadly, she ended up leaving this season without a new man by her side.
However, in classic classy lady fashion, it seems as though DaKiya did not let this little reality television stumble hold her back. And she has now found genuine love much closer to home.

It has now been almost three years since Ready to Love’s fifth season first aired, and it is easy to get some of the finer details from this season mixed up, especially since this season’s cast changed so often.

DaKiya got her happily ever after
In case you missed it, DaKiya started dating someone new shortly after season five of Ready to Love aired.
And while their engagement party did have a unique Ready to Love-twist, as DaKiya was under the impression that she was attending a party for one of the show’s producers up until her boyfriend proposed – Alex (her now-husband) has no connection to the show.
Alex Williams, who DaKiya tied the knot with in July of 2023 in a lavish Maryland wedding bash, is the CEO of a government contracting company, Frederick Oak.
In the end, it turns out that DaKiya actually met her true love years before she had signed on to do Ready to Love as they actually met and started out as high school friends.
However, we strongly suspect that seasonfive may have spurred this relationship on, as DaKiya and Alex decided to take their relationship to the next level during DaKiya’s Jamaican birthday trip, which took place just a few weeks after the filming of season fivehad wrapped.
All about DaKiya’s business
Although DaKiya is likely still in the thralls of newlywed bliss, she has not neglected her dance studio business, Dance Dimensions.
If you were paying attention to DaKiya’s story on season five of Ready to Love, you will already know that she has been running her very own Forestville dance studio for almost two decades.
And it seems like she is still going strong as the dance studio’s Director, despite her newfound reality television fame.
In fact, a recent post on the Dance Dimensions Instagram page reveals that DaKiya is still running the show on recital day, with two laptops and a headset at the ready.
DaKiya’s new podcast
And when DaKiya is not enjoying her new marriage spending time with her husband or running her dance studio, you can find her recording new episodes for her podcast, The Keep It Cute Show.
While DaKiya did not leave Ready to Love season five with a new romantic relationship, it seems like she did strike up a new friendship.
DaKiya’s co-host on The Keep It Cute Show is her Ready to Love co-star, Sabrina Topacio (who is also now happily engaged).
The Keep It Cute Show has only released a few episodes thus far, but DaKiya and Sabrina started it off with a bang sharing all of their behind-the-scenes secrets in the show’s first episode.
